Este es un viaje a las casas de los más grandes músicos e intérpretes del Son Cubano del siglo XX, tanto los que continúan viviendo en Cuba como los de la diáspora. Ellos me ofrecieron su afecto y humildad, que es tan grande como sus talentos. Esta experiencia fundamental en mi vida tuvo lugar hace veinticinco años. Cuarenta de ellos ya murieron. Este fue mi primer libro, y deseo que sirva como tributo a los rumberos de ayer y siempre.

This is a journey in the homes of 45 among the greatest Cuban Son musicians of the XX century; as much as those that continue living in Cuba as those in exile. They offered me their affection and humility, which is as big as their talents. This essential experience in my life happened fifteen years ago already. In the meantime, twenty-five of them have passed away. This is mi first book, I wish that serves as tribute to the ‘rumberos’ of yesterday and forever.
